Laurie Smallwood has had a front row seat to all things City of Sandy government over the past 6 years. She actively represents the people of Sandy on the issues. She’s not afraid to stand against the majority of the council on an issue when she doesn’t believe it’s what Sandy residents want.
At first, Laurie did not intend to run for mayor. However, she’s become convinced that there needs to be change in the City of Sandy.

1/17/24, community members react on social media to the announcement of a new police chief being selected who has a questionable past. The white box above originally contained a photo of the newly selected police chief, however the city deleted the announcement on their website once he failed the background check.
